HMS MAGPIE BATHYMETRIC SURVEY WORKS

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that HMS MAGPIE will be conducting Bathymetric survey works within Portsmouth Harbour and the Main Approach channel from 20th March until 4th July 2019.

2. The vessel undertaking the survey operations will be the 18.5 catamaran (grey hull and superstructure) “HMS MAGPIE” which will operate during daylight hours only.  The primary areas to be surveyed are the Portsmouth Main Approach Channel and Inner Harbour, with additional tasking throughout the Dockyard Port of Portsmouth including the approaches to Fishbourne. 

3. The vessel will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 11 during operations and display appropriate shapes (Ball-Diamond-Ball in a vertical line) or lights (Red-White-Red in a vertical line) when operational.

4. Mariners are requested to keep well clear of the vessel while surveying if practicable, and to liaise early with the vessel if in any doubt as to its intentions.

5. Cancel this LNTM 10 July 2019.
