THE BLUE MILE EVENT 30 AUGUST 2021

1. This is a joint direction by the Queen’s Harbour Master Plymouth and the Cattewater Harbour Master pursuant to the Dockyard Port of Plymouth Order 2021.

2. The Blue Mile Event will be held in the Cattewater on Monday 30th August 2021. The event consists of swimming, kayaking and Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) with participants setting off in groups outlined in the programme below.

4. Course.  The course for all participants is the same one mile course starting and finishing adjacent to the Mountbatten slipway. (See attached chartlet)

All starts will be floating starts.  The Start line is located off the eastern slip at Mount Batten leading into a one mile circular course passing inshore of the Mount Batten Landing stage to buoys laid just short of Batten end and reversing course before returning to the finish off Mount Batten slipway.

5. Course Boundary.  Only authorised craft are permitted within the course boundaries.

6. The event is being co-ordinated by the Blue Mile team and their safety craft manned by “Coast to Coast Water Safety” personnel will be in attendance throughout the event.

7. Mariners are directed to keep clear of the race course, to navigate with caution when passing the competitors and obey the instructions of the course marshalls and safety craft.

8. Cancel this PLNTM 31 August 2021.
