Royal Marines

Courage. Determination. Selflessness. These are the qualities that make the Royal Marines the world’s most renowned commando force. They are held at high readiness in order to respond rapidly to threats around the globe.

1 Assault Group’s role

Made up of four separate units, 1 Assault Group are masters of small boat operations. They use fast, highly manoeuvrable watercraft to conduct hit-and-run operations on enemy ships and to deliver troops and equipment ashore.

The group also provides training in a number of areas, from engineering to assault navigation. One of the group’s sub-units, 11 Amphibious Trials and Training Squadron, is responsible for conducting trials and testing of future crafts.

Being a part of the Royal Marines

Royal Marines Commando

Life in the Royal Marines can be tough, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. You need to really push yourself, mentally and physically. It’s more than just a job. It’s a lifestyle.
