The Medway tender of HMS President was formally opened by Rear Admiral Simon Williams CB CVO, marking the future of the Royal Navy in one of its traditional heartlands.
Rear Admiral Williams officially opened the new Royal Naval Reserves training facility in Rochester at 7.30pm.
This opening marks an investment in an area steeped in Royal Naval tradition. HMS President is the London Royal Naval Reserve unit, the Medway Tender was formerly based in Brompton Barracks in Chatham.
This move reflects an investment in Kent and the Medway to maintain ties with the community and offer opportunities for anyone who wants to join the Royal Naval Reserve.
