HMS Collingwood says goodbye to Commanding Officer

Sailors and staff at HMS Collingwood recently bid a fond farewell to Captain Andy Jordan ADC, the Commanding Officer of HMS Collingwood.
Before he left, Captain Jordan gave an address to the Ship’s Company, where he thanked every member of staff, including civil servants and contractors, for their support during his time in command of the Navy’s training establishment in Fareham.
Turning his attention to the trainees, who had turned out in force to hear him speak; he wished them well for their future careers and assured them that the training they receive would prepare them well for the challenges they will face in the Fleet.

Captain Jordan, who in a twenty-five year career in the Royal Navy has served in eleven ships, commanding four of them and visited over seventy countries said, “It is a huge privilege to do what I do on a daily basis.
“To have command of ten per cent of the Navy on any given day, in the Navy’s biggest and best training establishment, with a training organisation that delivers really high quality trained sailors to the Fleet, is a huge source of pride for me.”
Captain Jordan passed temporary command of the Establishment to Commander Dave Johnston, the Executive Officer, before driving out of the establishment for a final time along a route lined by the Ship’s Company.
