The event has been run for the last few years, but the first this large and the first run jointly with the MOD’s industrial partners Interserve and Babcock.
Commodore Ian Shipperley, Devonport Naval Base Commander, said: “This year’s Health & Well Being Fair was the biggest and most comprehensive event that we have held at HMNB Devonport.
“With over 50 stands from Age UK to Yoga classes, it builds on previous years and was relevant to everyone on the site – RN, civilian staff, contractors, veterans, volunteers and visitors - and everyone was encouraged to come and see what was on offer.
This year’s Health & Well Being Fair was the biggest and most comprehensive event that we have held at HMNB Devonport.

“Visitors learned ways of improving or saving lives and how to help family and colleagues.’’
The aim of the day was to promote the benefits of health and wellbeing across the Naval Base and help everyone look after themselves and their families.
One popular attraction was a fixed exercise bike which doubled up as working a smoothie making machine – as tried out by Cdre Shipperley.
Feedback has been so favourable that another event will be staged and constructive comments taken into account to provide an even better experience.
