HMS Collingwood welcomes back Royal Marines band

After a year of sell-out performances at Fareham’s Ferneham Hall, The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Collingwood are set to return home for their 2020 season.

The Band will be performing three Sunday matinee concerts at the Establishment’s Millennium Hall, each with a different theme. The first, on Sunday 16th February, will be a programme inspired by Dance. From Viennese waltzes to Celtic classics, ballet to big band, there promises to be something for everyone.

Throughout 2020 HMS Collingwood celebrates 80 years of training world class sailors for the front line, looking back to its “hostilities-only” origins and forward to the technological advances in warfare and defence training. The Band will join in with the celebrations with its concert on Sunday 14th June which will have a “Collingwood 80” theme running throughout.

The Band will be in action once more on Sunday 27th September with another rip-roaring concert designed to entertain and stir the senses. The awe-inspiring, world-famous Corps of Drums will also be in attendance at all concerts, adding their unique touch to proceedings. A concert date in December is still to be confirmed.

We’re delighted to be returning to HMS Collingwood for the 2020 concert series. No matter how far and wide the band travels, we love playing for our home audience and especially at home in the Millennium Hall.

Director of Music Captain Tom Crane
