Royal Navy Pilot achieves 4000 flying hours

Royal Navy Pilot, Lieutenant Commander David Lilly, has achieved a high flying 4000 flying hours.

Lt Cdr Lilly has a career spanning 20 years including time at sea flying both the Lynx helicopter and currently the Royal Navy’s newest helicopter the Wildcat HMA2.

He is currently a QHI (Qualified Helicopter Instructor) on Wildcat on 825 Naval Air Squadron (NAS) part of the Wildcat Maritime Force based at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, Somerset.

He provides training instruction to the Fleet Air Arm’s newest pilots on the very latest operational helicopter and he is also a member of Naval Flying Standards.

Lt Cdr Lilly commented on his achievement saying: “It’s gone by so quickly, that’s what happens when you do a job you love every day with an exceptional aircraft, working with such a great team in the Fleet Air Arm.”
