Babcock Warrior reveals great potential in new apprentices

Topic: PeopleReserves

HMS Scotia recently hosted a day's activities to show colleagues at Babcock International Group the range of our ship's skills.

The Rosyth-based Royal Naval Reserves unit plays its part as an active member of the wider community: around the dockyard and the new Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers; around the towns of Rosyth and Dunfermline and wider still; in charity fundraising; in support of local events and; in engagement with business.

As often as we can, Scotia 'opens the gangway' to let local business see what we do, to network with existing and new colleagues and to foster stronger ties with our neighbours.

Our team welcomed 23 newly recruited apprentices from Babcock International Group based in Rosyth dockyard.

The apprentices spent the day learning more about the Royal Navy, the Royal Naval Reserve and HMS Scotia.

General awareness, participation in activities and an introduction to leadership and team working was the order of the day.

The event also gave an insight for the Babcock apprentice Early Career Managers, into the skills an potential of their recruits.
