On 7 September 17 HMS Bulwark had the huge honour and privilege of hosting the British Sitting Volleyball team who represented Great Britain at the Invictus Games which was held in Toronto Canada 23-30 September.

The purpose of their visit was to film a BBC advert which was played on all BBC channels in the build up and during the Invictus Games.

The team had an enjoyable but busy day of filming which included an LCVP ride, transferring from the LCVP into BULWARK via the stern gate, transport to the Flight Deck from the Well Dock in a BV206 then finally some volleyball!

Once at Toronto the British team had a fantastic tournament.

In the pool matches GB beat the teams from France and Afghanistan before beating Jordan in the pool play off.

In the semi-finals they met and beat the Danish team after coming back from a set down.

In the final they unfortunately couldn’t overcome a strong Georgian side but must be congratulated on returning home with the Silver Medal.
