Sultan Trafalgar Fun Run raises funds for Royal Navy charity

Personnel from HMS Sultan took part in the Establishment’s Trafalgar Day Fun Run recently in order to raise money for the Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC).

Around 500 runners, including the Commanding Officer of the Establishment Captain Peter Towell, ran around the technical side of the Establishment on a course which included a 130ft inflatable, rugby shield clad centurions, and an off road trek round Fort Rowner.

Congratulations go to ETME Michael Burns and AET Emily Newton who won the male and female races.

The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity is the principal charity of the Royal Navy. It exists to support sailors, marines and their families, for life.

Its group of charities includes the Royal Marines Charity, the Royal Navy Officers’ Charity and the Naval Service Sports Charity.

Since 2007, it has funded projects and facilities that boost morale for those who serve today.

It also distributes millions of pounds annually to military charities which care for the children, families and veterans of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.
