Sultan planners help spread Festive cheer

The Training Planners at HMS Sultan recently organised a collection of food and toiletries in order to show their support for the Gosport and Fareham Basics Bank.

The team of Babcock employees took donations from Service and civilian personnel from across the Establishment to help out local people who may be struggling this Christmas.

The Gosport and Fareham Basics Bank provides food parcels containing enough items to last a family in crisis for a week.

As they are a voluntary run charity, they rely heavily on donations throughout the year.

Training Planning Course Booker, Kayleigh Breen said: “The support from within Sultan has been amazing, we’ve had lots of people turn up with huge amounts.

“One person turned up with a trolley as the food they were donating was so heavy and the Submariners here came together and provided us with £200 worth of food.”

“The food bank always seems so grateful to receive anything, especially basics like UHT milk, sugar and cordial for the kids as they are always running out of those things.”

“Everyone has just been so generous and we’ve more than doubled what was donated last year.”
