Royal Navy Air Day 

RNAS Yeovilton - Saturday 13th July 2019

The Royal Navy International Air Day will take place at the Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS) Yeovilton in Somerset on Saturday 13 July 2019.

RNAS Yeovilton, the spiritual home of the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm, will open their gates to up to 40,000 visitors to enjoy the magnificent five hour flying display, meet our Armed Forces personnel and see their equipment up close.

There will also be a huge array of educational ground attractions from interactive Service displays to engineering fairs and state-of-the-art defence technology exhibitions. Families will also be able to enjoy trade stalls, arena displays, helicopter pleasure flights, simulators and fairground rides.

  • Online: Available here

  • Over the Counter: Available from April 2019

Additional Information

  • Children Under 5 years old do not require a ticket.
  • Advance ticket booking deadline (online and phone) is 8 July.
  • Advance tickets will be available over the counter until Friday 12 July. Participating agents tbc in April.
  • UK Armed Forces and Veterans can obtain a discount code through the Defence Discount Service. Sign up or log in to find the discount code. Enter the code during the online ticket booking process.
  • A £3 booking fee per transaction is applicable on all online, phone and postal orders for advance priced tickets. This does not apply to tickets booked before 1 February 2019 or over the counter transactions.
  • Calls charged as standard local rate or free as part of any inclusive minute bundles you have with your mobile or fixed line provider.
  • Tickets are available to purchase at the gate however, this facility may be withdrawn at any time should there be an unprecedented demand for tickets prior to the show.

Yeovilton is 5 miles north of Yeovil, 38 miles south of Bristol, close to the A303 and A37, and within easy reach of the M5 from Junction 25.

Helicopter Pleasure Flights

Enjoy spectacular views of RNAS Yeovilton and surrounding areas during Air Day with an approximate 6 mile trip available from £35.

Advance booking will ensure Priority Fast Track reservation giving you time to enjoy the rest of the Air Day.

Please note helicopters are not military aircraft and pleasure flights are being sold separately by the operator Adventure 001.

The Arrivals Day is your chance to view some of the aircraft that will be taking part in the flying and static displays arriving at RNAS Yeovilton in preparation for Air Day.

Mobility aids viewing enclosure

A Mobility Aids Viewing Enclosure (MAVE) is situated along the crowdline, on hard-standing, approximately 400 metres from the Disabled Car Park.

Access to the enclosure is free of charge and is restricted to those using mobility aids and ONE accompanying carer only.

Space is limited and subject to availability.

Disabled Facilities

A number of facilities are provided to make your visit more accessible and enjoyable including pre-booked mobility scooters and viewing enclosures.

All visitors must purchase an admission ticket, there are no ticket concessions for disabled people or their carers.

Let the flying displays entertain you in the lower tiers of our raised grandstand and enjoy clear views of the show. No telephoto lenses are permitted in these seats.

Over five hours of amazing flying displays and an extensive static display will feature historic naval aircraft and their modern day counterparts in spectacular role demonstrations to acknowledge the Fleet Air Arm’s role in Protecting Our Nation’s Interests.

UK and foreign military formation and solo display teams have also been invited to participate at the airshow.

Alongside the magnificent flying display there will also be a huge array of ground attractions, from engineering fairs to the latest defence technology exhibitions, Service displays, trade stalls and arena displays. For the thrill seekers there will be simulators, fairground rides and helicopter pleasure flights to enjoy.
