The sacrifice of members of the Royal Navy Submarine Service will be marked during this year’s Submariner Memorial weekend on Saturday October 31, and Sunday November 1.

The Submariner Memorial weekend takes place in London in the weekend prior to the National Remembrance Day Parade. 

 

The weekend includes:

  • the opening of the Poppy Garden at Westminster Abbey;
  • wreath laying in the West Cloisters at the Combined Services Memorial;
  • a service and wreath laying at the National Submarine War memorial on Victoria Embankment.

Previously, hundreds of serving and veteran Submariners have attended the event, but this year, due to COVID restrictions, attendance at the memorial weekend has been strictly pared-down.
