Royal Navy Alpine Ski
We compete annually against the Army and RAF at the Inter-Services Snow Sports Championships (ISSSC) at Meribel, France. Both men’s and ladies teams compete in all four of the Alpine Ski Racing disciplines of: Downhill, Super-G, Giant Slalom and Slalom. We also compete in all events, except Downhill, at the Royal Navy Alpine Championships (RNAC) which serve as an excellent springboard toward the ISSSC competition. There's also an out-of-season racing opportunity at Milton Keynes for the RN Indoor Championships.
The main season is spread over five weeks, with four weeks primarily training focused at Valloire, France, before progressing to the RNAC at Tignes, France.
We also try and run a pre-season training camp, plus out-of-season camps at indoor pistes such as Landgraaf, Holland, providing a high level of instruction concentrating on race techniques.
