SOUTHSEA COASTAL WORKS TEMPORARY SPECIAL MARKS (Rev 10.)

Navwarn No 64/24

1. The various Yellow Special Marks laid off Southsea Castle to mark the extent of the coastal works and assist to delineate the eastern extent of bathing areas have now been again re-sited along the foreshore.

2. A vessel and public no entry zone has been marked within the following marks.

The Western most extent is demarcated by a yellow lit buoy and laid in the following position:-

Lit buoy 1 (Fl Y 5s) 50° 46’.935N 001° 05’.935W

The Easternmost extent is marked by a permanent piled starboard daymark.

50° 46’.619N 001° 05’.128W

Additionally 3 New Permanent Starboard Day Marks (Groyne Piles) have been established in the following positions:-

50° 46’.776N 001° 05’.623W
50° 46’.724N 001° 05’.556W
50° 46’.635N 001° 05’.363W

3. Mariners are advised to navigate with particular caution in the vicinity and are not to navigate on the shoreward side of the marker buoys.

4. The following Portsmouth NAVWARNs remain in force: 45/24, 43/24, 40/24, 38/24, 28/24, 16/24, 66/23, 63/23, 23/23, 15/22, 57/20, 15/19, 75/17, 33/17 & 57/12.  

5. Navwarn 36/24 is hereby superseded.
