UNMANNED UNDERWATER VEHICLE OPERATIONS 13 JANUARY - 17 JANUARY 2025

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) and Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) activity will take place in Osborne Bay, Stokes Bay and Sandown Bay from 13 January to 17 January 2025.

2.  UUV’s and tethered ROV’s will be operated from Royal Navy Archer Class Vessels HMS RANGER and HMS EXPLOIT which will act as the host platforms and provide safety oversight for the deployed vehicles.

3.    Activity will take place between 0830 and 1600 in the above areas. Vessels may adopt RAM during the launch, recovery, and operation of the vehicles. Mariners are requested to keep clear and pass slowly if in the vicinity of these vessels, particularly when conducting launch or recovery of vehicles.

4. The host platforms will be listening on VHF Ch 11, 12, 72 and 16. Vessels in their vicinity may be contacted to make them aware of surfacing vehicles.

5. All vessels will obey the International Rules for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs) at all times.
