RBLG SWIM THE SOLENT

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King's Harbour Master Portsmouth that a cross Solent swim will take place on 5 July 2025 between Gosport (GAFIRS) and Ryde Sands to raise money for the beach lifeguard service. 

 2. Ryde Beach Lifeguards, 5 swimmers, are swimming from Gosport (GAFIRS) to Ryde Sands (Ryde Beach Lifeguards HQ) 

3. The swim will be controlled by 5 kayakers. 1x 7.5m RIB. 1x 11m multi hull, 2x PWC as safety cover. 

4. The swim will commence from Gosport (GAFIRS) at 1000 and is expected to complete at Ryde Sands by approximately 1230. 

5. All support craft will be monitoring VHF 16, VHF 14, VHF 12, VHF 11.  

6. Mariners are requested to keep a good lookout and pass well clear of the swimmer and the support craft during their crossing of the Solent.
