UNCREWED SURFACE VESSEL TRIALS 10 JUNE - 31 AUGUST 2025

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) trials will be conducted within the Dockyard Port of Portsmouth over the period 10 June to 31 August 2025.  
 
2. The USV will be trialled in Hayling Bay.
 
3. The designated trials period is during daylight hours and includes the USV operating in remote/autonomous mode within the trials area. Only one USV will be trailed at any given time. The USV will be towed on transit between Trafalgar Wharf, Portsmouth and the trials location. 
 
4. The USV ‘CW5’ is a yellow modified monohulled vessel (LOA 5.5m). The USV will be supported by a grey monohulled vessel (LOA 6.2m) ‘KEV 4’ and white catamaran (LOA 11.0m) ‘KITT’ that will act as the safety and support vessels during the period of the trials. The safety vessels will attend all times of the trials period. 
 
5. The safety vessels will be listening on VHF Ch 11. 
 
6. All trials vessels will conform to the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs) and The Dockyard Port of Portsmouth Order 2005, including speed limits.
