ARMISTICE AND REMEMBRANCE DAY GUN SALUTES 10 AND 11 NOVEMBER 2024

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King's Harbour Master Portsmouth (KHM) that to commemorate Armistice Day and Remembrance Day on Sunday 10 and Monday 11 November 2024 His Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth will conduct a Gun Salute from the southern point of South Railway Jetty. On each day, the Salute will consist of a single gun at 1100 followed by a further single gun at the end of the period of silence.

2. To ensure safety during the firing, as permitted in the provisions of The Dockyard Port of Portsmouth Order 2005, KHM will impose an exclusion zone for all marine traffic as shown in figure 1. Large traffic to/from the Naval Base or Portsmouth International Port will be held or have its speed adjusted to ensure the exclusion zone is clear. Ministry of Defence Police launches and KHM Harbour Control will ensure small craft keep out of the exclusion zone.

3. Mariners are advised to remain clear of this exclusion zone. A sécurité broadcast will be made by KHM enacting the exclusion zone at 1050. A further broadcast will be made to disestablish the exclusion zone immediately on completion of the event.
