PILE 98 REPLACEMENT WORKS

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that marine operations to re-establish Pile No. 98 (Southerly Cardinal Mark) in the central upper area of Portsmouth Harbour will be carried out by Baker Trayte Marine Ltd between 15 August and 19 September 2022.

2. The structure will again be a three legged / tripod design and as previously be a fixed lit Aid to Navigation as that of a South Cardinal Mark (Q 6 + L Fl 15s).  The pile will be sited in position 50° 48’.610N 001° 06.780W as currently charted.

3. The BT Marine vessels involved in the operation will be MPV “BULLDOG” (LOA 14.8m), the multi-cat “UNCLE BILL”, tug “FORCEFUL” (LOA 15.0m) assisted by either the Crane Barge “BT230” (LOA 30.0m) or spud leg Crane barge “ASNE” (LOA 40.0).
 
4. When works are underway an exclusion zone of 30m is requested and passing traffic is requested to pass at slow speed.

5. All vessels involved in the operation will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 11 throughout operations. QHM Harbour Control will be kept informed of work in progress and will de-conflict movements with other marine traffic. 6. Cancel this Portsmouth LNTM on 25 September 2022.
