1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that RN Survey vessels SHACKLETON and SAPPHIRE will commence Bathymetric survey works within Portsmouth Harbour and the Main Approach Channel from 2 May 2022 with work expected to continue until end July 2022.

2. Initially areas being surveyed by SHACKLETON / SAPPHIRE (LOA 11.0m) are the Main Approach Channel and the Inner Harbour as far north as the turning circle, subsequently work will continue in the creeks, Spithead Anchorages and other locations as required which may involve additional observations, all works being conducted during day light hours (weather dependent) only.

3. The vessels will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 11 during operations, and displays appropriate shapes (Ball-Diamond-Ball in a vertical line) or lights (Red-White-Red in a vertical line) when operational.

4. Mariners are requested to keep well clear of the vessel while surveying if practicable, and to liaise early with the vessel if in any doubt as to its intentions.
