PLYMOUTH LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS 037/25
RIVER TAMAR - INFORMATION
SALTASH REGATTA TAMAR SWIM – SATURDAY 07 JUNE 2025
- This is for information by the King’s Harbour Master Plymouth pursuant to the Dockyard Port of Plymouth Order 2020.
- The Saltash Regatta Tamar Swim will be held IVO the Tamar Bridge (general position 50°24.45’N 004°12.22’W) on Sat 07 June 25 (At approximately 1530). Up to 50 swimmers and escorting safety craft will be on the water.
- Course. Swimmers will enter the water from the slip way in Saltash to the south of Royal Albert Bridge, they will then swim east across the River Tamar to the slipway on the opposite side of the river, they will then turn around and swim back across the river exiting at the same place they entered. Swimmers will be escorted by safety craft throughout. Safety craft will consist of kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and powerboats.
- Only authorised craft are permitted within the group of swimmers.
- The Safety Management is being coordinated by Devon and Cornwall Wild Swimming, personnel will be in attendance in safety craft throughout the event and can be contacted via VHF Ch.14.
- Mariners are to keep clear of the swimmers and are at all times to navigate with caution and at slow speed when in the vicinity of persons in the water.
