PLYMOUTH LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS 022/25

DEPLOYMENT OF SCIENTIFIC EQUIPMENT - INFORMATION

 

1.           This notice is for information from the King’s Harbour Master, Plymouth pursuant to the Dockyard Port of Plymouth Order 2020.

2.           Scientific equipment will be deployed on the seabed in the Port of Plymouth as follows:

a.           Location (approximate): 50° 21.385’N, 004° 10.305’W (Barnpool)
b.           Date / Time:                                   20 Feb 25 - 1100-1700

3.           The equipment deployed will reduce the charted depth by approximately 5m. The deploying vessel will operate in the vicinity of the equipment throughout the day before recovering.

4.           During deployment / recovery of the equipment the vessel will be restricted in its ability to manoeuvre and will display appropriate shapes and lights as required by International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea.

5.           Mariners are advised accordingly.
