PLYMOUTH LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS 052/24 - INFORMATION

DREDGING AT HMNB DEVONPORT

1. This notice is issued for information by the King’s Harbour Master Plymouth.
2. Dredging operations will be undertaken at various places throughout the Dockyard Port of Plymouth, including HMNB Devonport, commencing on 10 August 2024 for approximately 3 Weeks.

   HMNB Devonport Maintenance Dredge Area

   50°21.7259'N, 004°11.1391'W

3. The works will comprise of submersible pump dredging, plough dredging and survey operations. NOTE: A marker buoy will be placed within Weston Mill Lake as required Mariners are advised to give the marker buoy a wide berth and navigate with caution.
4. The following vessels will be utilised to complete the works:

   MSL Tavy - Dredger

   Obervargh - Plough vessel

   Sea Eagle – Survey Vessel

5. Appropriate shapes will be displayed as required by International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea. Mariners are requested to pass at a safe distance and minimise wash when passing vessels engaged in dredging and surveying operations.
