PLYMOUTH LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS 033/24 - INFORMATION

DREDGING AT HMNB DEVONPORT

1. This notice is issued for information by the King’s Harbour Master Plymouth.
2. Dredging operations will be undertaken at various places throughout the Dockyard Port of Plymouth, including HMNB Devonport, commencing on 23 March 2024 for approximately 7 days.

   HMNB Devonport Maintenance Dredge Area

3. The works will comprise Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) and Plough Dredger will complete the works with disposal of material at Plymouth Deep (PL035) licensed disposal site:

   Plymouth Deep (PL035)

4. The following vessels will be utilised to complete the works:

   Freeway - TSHD

   Obervargh - Plough vessel

   Aramis – Survey Vessel

5. Appropriate shapes will be displayed as required by International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea. Mariners are requested to pass at a safe distance and minimise wash when passing vessels engaged in dredging and surveying operations.
