Friends Epic Pedal for Reading Force.
Good friends Neil and Derek took fundraising to an epic new level recently by peddling from Land’s End to John o’Groats to raise money for Reading Force.
Neil Baverstock said, ‘To mark the tenth anniversary, of what is now a registered charity, meeting the needs of Forces families worldwide, I am delighted to be raising money for Reading Force!’
Their 16 day adventure started on the 14th
August and after 973 miles, having sampled the highs and lows of cycling in the British summer along the way, they arrived in John o’Groats on Sunday 29th
Alison Baverstock, Neil’s wife and the Founder of Reading Force, has blogged (MAMILgrammed) each stage of the mammoth ride. You can read Neil and Derek’s entire journey and Alison’s account of what it’s like to be the back-up and support, here: https://www.readingforce.org.uk/latest-news/

Alison said, ‘It's been such an absorbing experience and we feel very proud of our two cyclists. Seeing Neil and Derek round the final corner was both moving and inspiring’.
Reading Force are passionate about using books to bring Forces children and families closer together. Their shared reading initiative encourages families to read, talk, and scrapbook about a book, improving communication and enriching relationships with books and each other – one page at a time.
Their services are FREE to anyone with a military connection (Service Personnel, Reservists, Veterans and families of Forces Personnel separated by divorce or relationship breakdown).
