Team Tackle Hadrians Wall for a Good Cause.
Four Serving and Veteran Sailors are teaming up together to walk Hadrian’s Wall, raising money for the Naval Children’s Charity (NCC) at the same time, so they can continue to support families who need help in the future.
All the Sailors and their families have been tragically impacted by significant childhood illnesses and the Naval Children’s Charity was there to support them when they needed it.
Andy Dannatt, Nigel 'Donk' Fleetwood, Peter Richardson and Nic Smith will embark on their 84-mile journey heading from West to East, from Bowness on Solway to Wallsend, starting at 6AM on the 25th
Petty Officer (Marine Engineer) Nigel Fleetwood said, “I have decided to take on this challenge to try and help fundraise for the Naval Children’s Charity as a sign of gratitude for the support that they have given myself and my family through some really difficult times over many years”.
The team plan to record the four day walk as they go, posting daily on Facebook and their Virgin Giving page. Friends, family and everyone in the Naval community are encouraged to show their support by sharing and follow their journey along the way.
Nigel added, ” Please support us in helping this amazing charity by giving generously. Every penny counts and I can guarantee that all monies raised will go to helping a service family in need when they really need it".
Let’s hope they have excellent weather for their epic walk as they’re camping out along the way!
