Royal Navy Family & People Support (RN FPS) are busy planning ‘Play Outdoors’ sessions across several delivery locations in collaboration with Annington.
It is widely recognised that having the space and time to play is fundamental to every child’s happiness and development. Over the years with the increase of traffic, land development and a change in attitudes less children are playing outside.
‘Playing Out’ is a national grass roots organisation challenging the decline of outside play, encouraging and supporting communities to make safe spaces for play.  Its aim is for playing out near to home to become part of everyday life for children through creating the safe spaces on their doorstep.
On Wednesday 4 August, RN FPS, RAF and Army colleagues are organising ‘Playing Out’ events in Service Family Accommodation areas across the UK with the support of funding from Annington.
These free events are for all ages of children with a range of games to suit all and will provide the opportunity for children to play freely and make new friends close to home as well as the chance for parents to meet other parents.   RN FPS staff, volunteers and partner organisations will be on hand too, helping to run the games and activities.
Locations of these events are around Establishment areas, such as Portsmouth, Plymouth, Faslane, Lympstone, Taunton, Yeovilton, etc - a full list of locations is within the Survey.
To express your interest in attending please fill in this survey and ensure you provide your contact details by Friday 30th June. Our Community Staff will be in touch with further details.
