Latest Update from the Naval Childrens Charity

The past few months have been tough. While many of you will have experienced a Christmas with either you or a loved one on deployment, we’ve always been able to fall back on our extended families to provide support over the festive period. That seemed like a real luxury this year.

We were so proud to be able to spread a little bit of festive joy through our Christmas grants. Over 400 families in our network were provided with a contribution for presents and gifts, and we even managed to arrange a special delivery from Old St. Nick himself

Now our attention is focussed on the months ahead. Home schooling, short days and cold weather will leave many children feeling lonely, anxious and worried. We’ve collated research and tips from our partners and specialist organisations that can help you safeguard your children’s wellbeing and mental health while they remain at home.

We hope that our latest social media competition can provide a welcome distraction. To celebrate ‘Children’s Mental Health Week’, we want to see your children’s best creative work, to celebrate this year’s theme, ‘express yourself’. All entrants will receive a pair of Odeon Cinema tickets! Head to our Facebook page, or our new Twitter feed to find out more.
