Project Stirling, which is a flagship enterprise for PCC and Alabare Christian Care and Support by Kenneth Hames from the Alabare Community Self Build (Veterans). Please do look at the attached flyer and the below email from Ken.
COVID-19 as we all have all witnessed has witnessed many outreach projects almost redundant and we feel that we have not been able to get the message out about the build as widely as we would have liked.
We are asking for your help and support to advertise and promote the self-build project and try and get more recruits including women and families.
The start date will be the new year 2021 however there is a lot of preparatory work to do in 2020 in order to get a candidate ready.
It is open to tri-service personnel all ranks and all ages. We have a strong inclusivity and diversity programme and those with disability, wounded, injured or sick can apply and will be assessed fairly to see whether they can join the project.
These self-builds for veterans are see not only as a move toward independent living but also a platform for training and transition to civilian life. While some of our veterans are socially excluded not all are and some have successfully completed courses that have prepared them well to for a career in the construction industry or other work.
