COVID-19 - From a Service Families Accommodation (SFA) Perspective

To further mitigate the potential spread of the virus, the following measures are being introduced with immediate effect:

  • Amey Helpdesk agents will ask all callers if they or anyone living at the property is suspected of being at risk of Corona Virus or is undergoing a period of self-isolation.
  • Operatives attending appointments will call ahead to residents to ask if they or anyone living at the property is suspected of being at risk of Corona Virus or is undergoing a period of self-isolation.
  • Occupants in affected properties with planned moves will have their move delayed until such time as the occupants are confirmed to be clear of infection.
To assist DIO and Amey, the Families Liaison Officer is expected to inform the Amey NHP Helpdesk should any occupant of SFA be suspected of being at risk of Corona Virus or is undergoing a period of self-isolation.

As soon as the Amey Helpdesk is aware of the potential for the virus to be present within a property, it will be categorised as ‘affected’, with a ‘pop up’ notification confirming this to alert all relevant parties.  Any response repair works to an affected property will be limited to Emergency or Critical orders only.

Properties will remain categorised as ‘affected’ until such time as the occupant confirms to the Helpdesk, or the Regional Accommodation Team confirms with the occupant, that the medical authorities have confirmed they pose no risk or have tested negatively for Corona Virus.  At that point, the ‘pop up’ notification will be removed from the property record.

Further advice is being sought on how to deal with properties where there has been a confirmed outbreak of Corona Virus and residents have since recovered.
