Has your school signed up to Reading Force yet?
Over 120,000 Reading Force
scrapbooks have been given to Service children aged 0-18 since Reading Force began … Many of them given out by schools.
Reading a book together and enjoying scrap-booking as a family, at home together or over FaceTime/Skype if separated by deployment, helps children and parents stay connected and communicating well, AND boosts literacy confidence.
If your school registers (at no cost to the school or families) they will receive the special scrapbooks to give to Service pupils to take home. Families can send off for a book using the postcard inside the scrapbook, chat and share stories, and fill in the scrapbook. Every family who enters a scrapbook has it safely returned by registered post with a special certificate and the prize of a book!
Reminder! The next Scrapbook Competition closing date is 31st October – completed scrapbooks can be posted using the Freepost envelope (inside the scrapbook), or send in an envelope ‘Freepost READINGFORCE’.
You can also nominate your school’s club to be entered into the Reading Force book prize draw for a chance of winning £50 worth of books for club members to share. Email firstname.lastname@example.org
with your school’s name, address and age range of club members. Closing date for draw is 31st October and the winning school will be picked at random and notified in November.
