Greetings and welcome from the Ship’s Company of HMS Clyde. She is the Royal Navy’s latest Offshore Patrol Vessel (Helicopter) and is the Falkland Islands Protection Vessel (FIPV).
Launched in 2006, she was the first ship to be built and launched in Portsmouth since 1967. Clyde is now permanently deployed to the South Atlantic, with crew rotation staggered over a 6 month period.
The current HMS Clyde is the fourth vessel to bear the name.
The ship’s motto is ‘Clwo’ (Strength).
