Welcome to the Sussex URNU web pages.
Sussex University Royal Naval Unit (URNU) is based on the Falmer campus of the University of Sussex and offers leadership, seamanship and navigation training to approximately 50 undergraduates. Information on the role of the URNU, recent news and photographs and contact details can be found in the following pages. The URNU's previous training vessel, HMS Pursuer, has been relocated to Cyprus; but HMS Ranger, part of the Gibraltar Squadron for almost 13 years, returned to the UK in early 2004 and is the URNU's new ship.
