Welcome to Wales University Royal Naval Unit. Wales URNU is one of 14 such units around the country whose purpose is to educate high-calibre undergraduates in the role of, and need for, the Royal Navy.
We offer training in all aspects of navigation and seamanship, as well as leadership and life skills. Members can work towards RYA and City & Guilds awards, whilst being paid for the privilege! We currently have members from Cardiff, Swansea and Glamorgan Universities.
The Unit has its own dedicated ship, HMS Express, based at Penarth Marina in Cardiff Bay. Royal Navy Community Site
