Visit of Advanced Staff Course during Maritime Combat Power Visit Days to RFA Mounts Bay

RFA Mounts Bay sailed for Plymouth after a busy period alongside in Portland. The ship had undergone essential maintenance and assisted the PUMA team in collating information in preparation for the ship’s next refit.

The ship on arrival in Plymouth participated in this year’s Maritime Combat Power Visit programme.

Over a period of two days the ship hosted over 300 visitors including VIPs, MPs and senior officers on the Advanced Staff Command Course. The ship demonstrated to the visitors the capability and flexibility of the Bay Class in being able to provide support for amphibious operations. These included disaster relief, counter narcotic operations in conjunction with the USCG service and aspects of the wider general utility of the RFA.
