Sea Cadet Training Centre Sea Cadet Training Centre The Sea Cadet Training Centre HMS Excellent is a full time national training facility sponsored by MOD (N). The centre has a full time staff of five and provides training for both cadets and adult staff. The training complex consists of four well-furnished and equipped buildings located on the South Road of the Island. There are five classrooms, main office, training office, storerooms, cadet supervisors' office, student resource centre and kitchen facilities.

Both Adult and Cadet Courses are accommodated in HMS Bristol, which is berthed alongside Whale Island. All meals are taken in respective messes in HMS Excellent.

Sea Cadet Training Centre Team Sea Cadet Training Centre Team The range of courses on offer to both adults and cadets are of one-week duration and cover the following subjects:

  • Advanced Courses (Adults and Cadets).
  • Leadership and Management Training.
  • Instructional Method Courses.
  • Drill & Ceremonial Training.
  • Command Team and Senior Command.
  • New Entry Officer Training.
  • First Aid (RN level 2) Courses.
  • Full Bore Range.
  • Compulsory Induction course for all new entry adults to the Sea Cadet Corps.
  • Champions Training.

The centre receives support and advice from HMS Excellent at all levels, thus ensuring that its aims and objectives are achieved. The centre is also available to Sea Cadets Units and Districts for self run activities when classroom space is not required for National courses.
