I am truly honoured to be awarded the OBE and am very grateful for all the support I have received from my family and friends over the last 19 years of my Royal Navy career, particularly my mum and my sister.

Commander Jude Terry OBE

The award of the OBE was in recognition for her work in the Permanent Joint Headquarters (PJHQ), Northwood, during the period in which UK forces were redeployed from Helmand and whilst employed as the Military Assistant to the Chief of Joint Operations.

When asked how she felt about the award she said; “I am truly honoured to be awarded the OBE and am very grateful for all the support I have received from my family and friends over the last 19 years of my Royal Navy career, particularly my mum and my sister.”

She continued; “Their support has always been important but was essential in allowing me to do my job during what was an exceptionally busy time when I was employed at PJHQ for 3 years.”

On hearing of her award Cdre Burns  said; “I am delighted that Jude’s commitment and professional success have been recognised with the award of an OBE. Having worked closely with her in Northwood and again during this deployment I know how well deserved it is."
