My name is Joe Hole I am a Weapons Engineering Officer in the Royal Navy. I grew up in the countryside of Buckinghamshire and after questionable success with A-Levels but doing better with a Degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering, I joined the RN in April 2006.
I recently joined HMS Iron Duke as Deputy Weapon Engineer Officer in October 2008 after previous deployments to Eastern Africa and the West Indies.
I enjoy Music, Golf and various other sports but find my work commitments usually prevent me from representing the RN and my country at the Olympic Games!
I first joined HMS Iron Duke in late April this year, a month before she deployed for Atlantic Patrol North, chieflt to provide support to UK Overseas Territories in Caribbean region. After being onboard for a month long maintenance period, essentially preparation for the trip ahead, Iron Duke deployed on 27th May.
