Being physically and mentally fit is a core feature of being in the Royal Navy. Service life brings with it a unique set of physical demands. That’s why, from the moment you start your training, you’ll have the opportunity to keep fit and healthy, every day.

We believe that the combination of a physical education programme, regular exercise and a balanced diet means you’ll get more out of life and work, and we do everything we can to help you put exercise and healthy living at the heart of your daily routine.

Physical education in the Royal Navy also addresses certain health issues, via the Navy Command Executive Health Campaign. The campaign helps with anything from alcohol and substance abuse or smoking, to sexual and mental health, or support during and after pregnancy. At its heart is promoting the healthy lifestyle that will help you get more out of working and living in the Royal Navy.
