Find out if you can apply

Considering an application to become a ? First you need to find out if you’re eligible – and be clear on what’s involved:

  • Online eligibility assessment (approx. 10 minutes)
  • Online application (approx. 5 minutes)
  • Recruitment tests
  • Initial Officer Candidate Interview
  • Medical & eye tests
  • Flight Aptitude Test
  • Admiralty Interview Board  

Pass all of these and you’ll be able to join the Royal Navy as an Aircrew Officer Observer / Navigation & Weapons Systems.

To join you must be:

  • At least 15 years old when you apply
  • At least 17 years old on entry
  • Under 24 years old when you begin basic training

If you’re too young to apply, you can get a taste of the Royal Navy life by joining the Sea Cadets.
