Opening Times

We are open Monday-Thursday 0830-1700, Friday 0830-1600. No appointment is required; please feel free to drop in for an informal brief regarding career opportunities within the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

Information

If you are unable to attend the Inverness Office, an appointment can be arranged at your nearest Careers Scotland Office or Job Centre, by contacting us on the above telephone number. It is also possible for us to visit you at school or home if you live any distance from Inverness, again please give us a call.

We are available during the day, evenings and at weekends to give careers presentations to Schools, Colleges, Youth Groups, Uniformed organisations and other interested parties within the Highlands. Attending all local (inc Orkney and Western Isles) Careers Conventions and Jobs Fairs. We are also able to attend local shows and fairs with supporting assets when available. The Royal Navy Schools Presentation Team and Royal Marine Visibility Team are also available to undertake presentations and conduct Leadership and Teambuilding days within our area.

Ratings' Look at Life Course

Venue - Royal Naval Acquaint Centre, Rosyth, Fife

If you are considering a Career with the Royal Navy, an opportunity now exists to attend the above course which includes a single night in residence, incorporates a ship or submarine visit, team building, job opportunity (branch) lectures and an overview of ethos and core values of the Royal Navy. The courses start normally on a Monday and Wednesday at noon and end mid-afternoon the following day.  All food, accommodation and travel is provided free of charge to those attending.

Royal Naval Reserves

HMS Scotia is Royal Naval Reserve Unit for East Central Scotland and is situated within HMS Caledonia in Rosyth. If you would like information about opportunities available with the Royal Navy Reserve you can either visit the Inverness Careers Office or phone 01383 425559.

Royal Marine Reserves

The Headquarters of the Royal Marine Reserve Scotland is based in Govan, Glasgow and if you would like information about the Royal Marine Reserves contact 0141 4456020. Alternatively you could visit the Inverness Careers Office. RMR Scotland does have an Inverness Detachment which is situated within the Building 16, Cameron Barracks, Perth Road, Inverness, IV2 3XE and meets every Thursday evening at 1900. Any person joining the RMR from the Highlands would be based there.

Royal Fleet Auxiliary

The Royal Fleet Auxiliary is the organisation that sails alongside the Royal Navy, supporting it with whatever it needs, wherever it goes in the world. The AFCO can supply you with careers information or visit www.rfa.mod.uk

The following Sea Cadet Units are located in the area:
