Phase Two Becoming a Military Musician

In phase two, the focus shifts firmly to music. For the next two years, you’ll be based at the Royal Marines School of Music (RMSoM), mastering one or more instruments and gaining the skills you’ll need as a working Musician or Bugler in the Royal Marines Band Service.

Find Your ideal job

Professor of music:

You’ll have a civilian professor of music, with considerable musical experience, for each instrument you’re learning. They will be giving you individual weekly lessons. You’ll also have your own practice room to work on your technique.

As well as this, you’ll be in the capable hands of a Band Service Instructor. They’ll be experienced in the instrument you’re learning, so they’ll be able to keep an eye on your progress, advise you on technique and help sort out any problems.

Intensive training:

It will be intensive training, but you’ll find it’s a fantastic way to develop your musical skills quickly and correctly. By the end of it, you’ll be ready to join one of the five bands as a fully trained Musician or Bugler.

Does this sound good to you?
