The Reverend Scott Brown QHC RN joined the Royal Navy in 1993. A native of Hamilton, Lanarkshire, he studied Electrical Engineering and subsequently theology at the University of Aberdeen. A Church of Scotland minister, he was ordained by the Presbytery of Hamilton. Scott has served in small ships (Minewarfare vessels), in phase 1 and phase 2 training roles, and at sea in frigates and destroyers. He served as Staff Chaplain before being promoted Principal Chaplain and later Chaplain of the Fleet in 2010. He was also appointed as an Honorary Chaplain to Her Majesty the Queen. In Church life, he is currently Clerk of the Presbytery of England and sits as a member of the Commission of the General Assembly.
