Hints & Tips
 

  • Drink plenty of fluids – you will be thankful for it after a long day
  • Wear a hat and use sun block or bring waterproofs depending on the forecast
  • Aircraft are noisy! Protect hearing with ear plugs or ear defenders (available to buy from traders)
  • Don't lose your child!  Make use of the wristbands sent with your tickets and available at Information Points
  • Talk to the aircrew and ask questions
  • Make an effort to walk around the showground – there’s plenty to see!
  • Don't forget your camera
  • Pre-arrange a meeting point in the show in case you get separated from your group
  • Please put your litter in the bins provided
  • Security personnel put your safety first.  Please follow any directions they give.
  • Report any suspicious activity to any uniformed personnel or Information Point.
  • Pets are not permitted onto the airfield or car parks (RSPCA will be patrolling)

Road Directions and Car Parks

  • Yeovilton is 5 miles north of Yeovil, 38 miles south of Bristol, close to the A303 and A37, and within easy reach of the M5 from Junction 25.
  • Postcode for Sat Nav is BA22 8HT. Please ignore your Sat Nav as you approach the Air Station and follow the Air Day traffic signs.
  • All directions to Air Day will be sign posted and will lead you to the quickest route for the nearest car park.
  • All car parks are free of charge
  • Remember to make a note of which car park and entrance you are using.

We anticipate 10,000 vehicles attending the event. Please allow for some delay on entry and exit.

Personal Wellbeing 

  • Drink Plenty of Fluids
  • Dress appropriately for the weather - an airfield is a very exposed place to be!
  • Be prepared for high levels of noise. 
  • Air Day is supported by emergency medical facilities. 
  • If you suffer from any illness please ensure you are well enough before travelling. 
  • If you take regular medication, bring an adequate supply for the day and return trip home. 
  • Allow sufficient time for traffic delays to and from the event.

Disabled Facilities 

  • All visitors must purchase an admission ticket.
  • Unfortunately there are no ticket concessions for disabled people or their carers.
  • However, a number of facilities are provided to make your visit more accessible and enjoyable.
  • Disabled Parking (Fury car park) is free of charge, please follow the relevant traffic signs and display your blue badge or proof of disability.
  • A Disabled Enclosure is situated along the flightline, on hard-standing ground, approximately 400 metres from the Disabled Car Park.
  • The Disabled Enclosure is free of charge for disabled people and ONE carer. Entry charge of £5 per person for any additional people.
  • Wheelchairs and up to 100 electric scooters are available to hire.  Advance booking is essential to avoid disappointment by calling Poole Shop Mobility on  01202 670450 or online Poole Shop Mobility

Lost Children Centre

  • The Losot Children Centre will be operated by wellington School
  • All staff have had the necessary background checks and are experienced in looking after children.
  • The Lost Children Centre is located behind the funfair in between the top of Traders’ Rows B and C.
  • All Child tickets purchased in advance from the Ticket Office will be issued with a free Lost Child wristband.      
  • We highly recommend you use these wristbands to ensure a swift recovery of your child should they get lost.
  • Visitors are asked to familiarise themselves with the site upon arrival. 
  • Lost Child wristbands are available free of charge at entry points and info booths.
