Combined Task Force (CTF) 152 operates in the international waters of the Gulf from the Straits of Hormuz in the South, to the maritime borders of Iran and Iraq in the North and conducts maritime security operations in this region.
Combined Task Force (CTF) 152
Maritime Security Operations set the conditions for security and stability in the maritime environment as well as complement the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations. These operations deny international terrorists use of the maritime environment as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons, or other material.
CTF 152 was established in March 2004. It operates in regional waters with all Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations and complements their security effort. The Task Force expanded its area of operation when it took over responsibility for the Northern Arabian Gulf in January 2009 formerly the responsibility of CTF 158.
