A final spot of wizardry from Navy's trainee Merlin crews

The final batch of Merlin aircrew are completing years of arduous training off the Cornish coast before the Fleet Air Arm gets its hands on the next-generation version of the helicopter. Eighteen trainee pilots, observers and aircrewman from 824 Naval Air Squadron at Culdrose are spending five weeks flying on, off and around aviation training ship RFA Argus - the last crews to do so before the Merlin Mk2 joins the Fleet Air Arm later this year.

HMS Grimsby Pays Namesake town first visit in five years

Royal Navy mine hunter HMS Grimsby will arrive in her affiliated home town on Friday (Feb 17) for her first visit in five years... and it’s hoped the people of Lincolnshire will turn out in their droves to welcome her. Civic affiliations are an important part of the Royal Navy’s commitment to raising the awareness of the variety of roles, equipment and people that make up the Senior Service. This visit will allow the ship’s company of HMS Grimsby to cement the already-strong links they have with Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
