Weekly Programme of Events / Activities
The Crossley centre is set back off Grange Lane, opposite Grange School and behind the Royal Sailors Rest. The centre comprises of a main hall with licensed bar (approx capacity 200), a standard kitchen facility (non commercial) with extended grounds including a decked area and children’s play park.
There is an internet suite which is being upgraded in the coming year and is available for service families to keep in touch with loved ones on deployment and brush up on your IT skills.
The centre is also available to members for private hire, so if you are looking for a venue for a birthday party or a special occasion then why not pop in and check out the details with the Centre Administrators and we think you will find the prices very reasonable.
The Crossley Social Committee organises a social calendar of events, aimed at supporting Service families. Every Friday night is the family disco with the toy and meat raffle and special occasions such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas are always well catered for. So if you are looking for somewhere to go which is local, affordable and welcoming to families then give it a try if you haven’t already.
The Forces Families Community Group is a vibrant and welcoming group where you will find others who will understand the special nature of Service family life, the coping with deployment, children perhaps “playing up” because a parent is away, being excited because your loved one is coming home or feeling anxious because they have just told you that they are going away. There will be someone there to talk to who will have experienced something similar.
Apart from the support there’s a lot to do as well, craft activities, family learning, playtime with children, trips out and about, the list is created by the group so why not come along and be a part of it.
Take a look at the programme and if you would like to find out more, or have some ideas on community activities then please get in touch ……we would love to hear from you!
