Weekly Programme of Events / Activities

HRH Prince Michael of Kent opened the Culdrose Community Centre in August 1995. It is a purpose built facility, designed to provide resources and events for the local community. It hosts recreational and educational sessions, and is available to hire for private functions by Service families and Ministry of Defence personnel at very competitive rates.

Many groups take place at the Community Centre including Slimming World, Brownies and Guides. We also have Parent & Toddler sessions on Monday and Friday mornings.

Our monthly newsletter “The Culdrose Courier” always contains an updated programme as well as details of forthcoming events. The newsletter is delivered to all Service Family Accommodation in Helston but for people living in private accommodation or onboard we have a mailing list and will send you a copy. Give us a call to have your details added to the list.

Gemma Raby the local Naval Personal Family Service (NPFS) Community Development Worker (CDW) manages and develops the centre. Gemma’s role as a CDW is wide and varied, but a large portion of her time is used to encourage, provide, co-ordinate and support community services and activities. Gemma is always keen to hear ideas for new groups or classes and can be contacted at the Centre  (#6100 from RNAS Culdrose) or by dropping in for a chat.

The Centre is very popular for private parties, especially at weekends. Booking the centre is simple, just phone us and we will be happy to arrange this for you but, try to book early to avoid disappointment especially over the busy holiday periods.

There is also a Pre School attached to the centre called Little Merlins, for more information please contact them on 01326 562894.
